7001-179 Lot of four patented metal braces. A Spofford patent by JOHN S. FRAY, 8" sweep, rosewood head and grip; a non-ratcheting L.L. DAVIS, early type with brass sleeve on chuck; a Draper-type with clamshell chuck, unmarked but by QUIMBY BACKUS, 10" sweep, rosewood grip and head; and one with a sliding ring chuck; we've seen it but the patent date is too faint to read, 8" sweep, beech head and grip. All have varying degrees of surface rust but all work smoothly with good wood. Good & better (CBM810) 80 - 140
