7104-129 Tuburculosis pocket spitoon. Also known as a sputum flask, these were heavily produced for 50 years since the 1880s, designed to let the sufferer of tuburculosis dispose of saliva and expectorate into a personal spitoon to avoid spread of the disease. Despite being widely produced, most were obviously disposed of given the contagious nature of its purpose. The majority were blue in color, typically a flat oval glass body with two holes on either end, sometimes with a built in funnel. This one does not have a funnel but has two screw cap ends and is unmarked. 4-1/4" tall and 1-1/2" wide. Good (PLH782) 50-100
