7102-10 C.E. JENNINGS Steers-type bench plane. Most of the planes that feature William Steers' patented soles with inlaid rosewood strips were manufactured by Brattleboro Tool Co. and also featured his patented cutter adjustment.? However, in the 1890s Jennings briefly produced a full line of planes with Steers type soles but Bailey pattern frogs and cutter adjustments, which are far less common than the Brattleboro planes.? See PTAMPIA II, pages 144-45. The No. 304 had a 9" sole and 2" cutter. Rosewood strips are worn, especially at the toe, the tote has a reglued crack and is missing the cap on the end of the bolt. Cutter may be original but obscured by rust.? Good- (SCA1382) 80-150
