7004-210 Set of Marquois scales. Invented in 1780 for military drawing and surveying, consisting of two 12" rules and a right triangle with scale markings. Boxwood, marked "Army & Navy C.S. L." which stands for Army & Navy Cooperative Society Ltd, a co-op store formed in 1871 by a group of retired army and navy officers that grew into a retailing giant.
