7003-145 Lot of two SARGENT No. 5306 Type 1 block planes. Scare type with the unusual locking lever cap also referred to as the "patent lever cap" as it has a patent date on the underside. It came nickel plated and japanned, and this appears to be one of each although I can't guarantee the japanned one hasn't been repainted. Both have properly marked cutters, japanning 70% on one with nickel plated lever cap, other near complete and again may be retouched. A few spots of surface rust and mild pitting.
